| My first race. January 25th, 2004 at around 7-7:30pm.
It
was me with my CRX Si and an Eclipse GS. As we took the U-Turn on Great
Seneca we waited for the cars to pass. The road cleared and we got into
position. We looked at each other and gave a three finger count. I
feathered the throttle to about 5000rpm and released the clutch. The
grip (considering I have no tires) was amazing. I speed shifted into
second gear VERY poorly at about 7500rpms. When I reach 7000rpms in
second, the GS was ahead of me and shifting into 3rd. I hit 8000rpms
and shifted perfectly into 3rd and proceeded to catch rpms. After VTEC
kicked in at 5500rpm the engine begain to really roar. I gradually
began to pull away from the GS and was about 4 feet away as I shifted
into 4th. After that I was gone, approaching the brigde curving towards
germantown at 95 mph, so I began to slow down, still shaking from my
first race and my first win vs a Eclipse GS.

| Finally got my car last night. Going to MVA today to get my temporary tags.
I must say that when I got behind the wheel last night the winter weather didn't get to me. I proceeded to turn the key two clicks to the right. On the third, I held in the clutch and heard my baby roar. A warm and tingling sensation got to me. As I came back to my senses I began to back out. Shifted into first at 1500rpms, releasing the clutch and feeling a swift acceleration. I shifted into second about 500 feet away from the stop sign and shifted back into neutral as I got close. Its 10:24pm. I have no tags. I'm at a stop sign in neutral. The road ahead of me is deserted. I hold the clutch down, shift into 1st gear, rev the engine to 3500rpms, and release the clutch. To my surprise, the CRX gripped to the road like a champ and jumped off at impressive acceleration. I proceed to shift into 2nd and accelerate enough to initiate VTEC at 5500 rpms. The sound was a bellowing base that echoed throughout the neighborhood. My journey ended back at my parking spot. I stepped out and admired the vehicle that would be my project as well as my baby.
I wonder if anyone has realized that my whole driving experience last night involved only two gears. Once I get my tags today, get her a full tank of gas, and take her to the wash, I'll "test out" the rest of her potential.
| Woop, woop! Got my first ticket last night going down MidCounty Hwy. Check it out:

| Inspection Blues. Here is a list of things I need to fix in order to pass inspection:
Cosmetic: Side Marker - needs to be amber Headlights - car is lowered (lights too low) Tint - remove or recieve waiver Battery - mounting Steering Wheel - too small, get stock Tie Rod - replace Tag - left tag light is out
Brakes: Drums & Disks - not tested (seller forgot the wheel key) Pads & Linings - not tested (seller forgot the wheel key)
Wheels/Tires: Tires (4) - worn/no threads and need to be 14" Wheels (4) - need to be changed to 14"
Suspension: Control Arm - L & R control arm swing bushings Suspension - needs to be raised for alignment Alignment - off scale, car needs to be raised to fix
Conclusion: I will be buying the car for $2000 instead of $3465. That gives me $1465 (obviously) to fix the shit up. Luckily the cosmetic stuff isn't a problem because I have a friend with a CRX that is willing to let me borrow some parts. As for alignment, I know where it can be done with the car lowered. Wheels and tires will be the most expensive fix and then the breaks (if they end up being fucked up).
Anyways I will decide within two days whether I'm buying it for $2000 or not. Wish me luck on all the work that is to be done and the final inspection before I get my tags.
